This summer I wanted to make sure my kids and I got out to take walks everyday so I decided we’d do #75milesofsummer.
The picture is a fun chart I created that Simon can color in a block for each mile we walk together. So far we’ve walked 18 miles since his school got out! That’s a whole lot of conversations about dinosaurs, whining about snacks, and complaining about the heat. ?
So… to go along with one of my mission verses, Deuteronomy 6:7 (“Impress [God’s commands] on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”) we intentionally do some talking about God.
Here are a few ideas for you if you want to do something similar. While on a walk:
– Ask your child to point out 3 things they see or hear that God created.
– Pick a few houses on your walk and pray for the people inside.
– Spend some time practicing memorizing a Bible verse together. Psalm 24:1 (The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.) is a good one to practice while outside!
Let me know if you do anything like this already! Or if you want an accountability partner!
